South Africa’s new water pricing strategy On 21 June 2024, the minister of water and sanitation released a Revised Pricing Strategy for Raw Water Use Charges, set to replace the 2007 strategy in 2026. The revised strategy aims to support sustainable economic growth and social development through efficient water management, reflecting the goals of the 2023 National Water Resource Strategy (NWRS). Read more.
Agriculture budget focuses on growth, biosecurity, and disaster preparedness The budget speech and policy statement by the recently appointed John Steenhuisen as minister of agriculture, has been warmly received.
