Load shedding: Urgent appeal to step up your general safety across South Africa
Thys Eloff from Oorgrens veiligheid has sent out an urgent warning to all South Africans – ‘The current abnormally high levels of “Load shedding” will contribute to increased crime at all possible levels’.
Armed Robbery, assaults, rape, theft, murder, burglary, vehicle theft, livestock theft as well as wildlife poaching by groups as well as larger syndicates can and will most likely increase.
WIFI calls and social App’s like WhatsApp quality as well as availability of a network is also affected due to this Load shedding.
Even gate motors may not work properly so make sure you have alternatives in place to cover all possible eventualities.
Make sure you can limit and withstand all the challenges and risks that are associated with the load shedding and be very alert at all times.
Connect with and be part of smaller groups in your immediate area who can assist and respond immediately.
Be vigilant and stay ready 24/7.
This warning applies to all areas and territories and not only to people living in remote and or rural areas.
